A Tribute to my Brother, Eric

So, this will probably be sappy, but I need to write this out :).
Three years ago today, my little brother Eric passed away. I miss him terribly, although I know that part of his life's plan was to move to the other side and be a missionary there, instead of here. I often feel guilty about not remember him as much as I should, so today, I am going to publicly write about him, so everyone knows how great he is!

He was only 17 months younger than I was, which meant we were either really close, or really not so close. He was a very smart, gifted person, with a deep love for the gospel. I admired this in him so much! He was respectful, fun, loving, caring, thoughtful, smart, and so much more.

The three years since he has passed has brought so much change. Much has happened. It makes me sad to think that my children will never know Eric here on earth, but I take great comfort in knowing that he is helping send them to me on earth. They all knew him in heaven before they came. I am so thankful for the knowledge of the gospel, to know that I will see him again, and that he is in a wonderful place, doing great things. His life, his mission, his work, is not over.

Anyway, I just had to say outloud, publicly (I guess a blog is considered public:), that I love Eric so much, and I miss him deeply. And finally, I am going to post some pictures I have of him on my computer. I don't have as many as I thought, I'll have to get more!

That was really sweet Carolyn. I loved how you said that your kids knew him before they came here. So true! I wonder how many more he's hanging out with up there just waiting to send down to you ;) Seriously though, that's a really neat thought.

I loved that post, Carolyn.

He's been on my mind a lot lately too... I gave a talk on Sunday and talked about how his death was very difficult, but it also strengthened my testimony of the Atonement. But that doesn't take away how much we miss him.

I love those pictures! Especially the first one of him smiling at graduation. Thanks for the wonderful post.

Carolyn, that was so great to read. The plan of salvation is such a wonderful blessing and such a great thing to be able to reflect on. I'm sure it'll be so great to be able to see him and have your children know him better someday.

I was glad to see this post:). Cheers to a wonderful brother, son, friend, missionary, and person! He taught me more about AP Calc than I ever knew was possible!

Beautiful tribute Carolyn! :)
