Oh, What a week we have had!

Here at the Matt and Carolyn household, things are finally getting back to normal. The last week (and a half) have been quite the adventure! And now, I must recap. I will try to do so as shortly as possible, but I can guarantee nothing.

Thursday, May 21 we headed out to Colorado for Nathan's graduation. We desperately needed a vacation, and this was just what the doctor ordered! We stayed with Matt's family, as did all of his family (minus one- missed you guys Jonah and Lyndsay!), and it made for an awesome time for the kids. Endless toys, trains, a sand box, swing set, and a bunch of cousins to go with it all meant my kids were in heaven! Not to mention, we had my family a mile away too. It was a blast. Pictures:

The hot tub was definitely a favorite. Plus, I love this picture of Jordyn, she looks so pretty! :)

So then, we journeyed back to Utah on Memorial Day, much to the kids shagrin. BUT, we got to bring Grandma Liz home with us! Thanks to this little number I've been carrying around- Unfortunately, no, not a baby. This ladies and gentlemen, is my cyst. It was HUGE. This ultrasound picture does not do it justice. So I was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, day after we get home, and I get to be at the hospital at 6:30 am. Somehow, someway, this this was related to the miscarriage/pregnancy. Not sure how, but it was there when they had looked at the baby once, back in March. They kept watching it to see if it would go down, and it did not. It kept growing. By the time they operated it, it was about this big. (Oh, sorry, I usually do a visual for everyone with my hands! :) haha) So in words, the size of a bowling ball, maybe a touch smaller.  How did it fit? I don't know.  Did I feel it? All the time.  I'm sure glad it's gone!

My amazing mom came out to watch kids, and take over general "mom" duties while I was passed out on the couch for a week. Mom, you're great! We can't thank you enough. The kids loved having her here, and it was so nice to know that they were being well taken care of when I couldn't do it. And so, some pictures:

Then, yesterday, May 30th, was our 6 year Anniversary. Kindof stinky timing right after surgery (or stinky surgery right before anniversary), but Matt made an amazing dinner of steak and lobster, and we bid farewell to my mom. Tyler still walks around asking for "Gamma!" We had a day to rest up a little today, and tomorrow its back to the daily grind, but now minus 10 pounds :). Here's to a few boring weeks ahead!
