Thanksgiving

I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is already over! We had a good week! It started out frustrating though. We were supposed to travel to Colorado and spend Thanksgiving with my family (we have only had Thanksgiving with them once in the last 8 Thanksgiving's!), but it just wasn't to be this year either. We packed up to head out on the day before, but once we hit the canyon, we quickly realized it was going to be a rough trip. The roads were just frozen solid and covered in snow and ice. A storm had come through the night before; what horrible timing!

So we turned around, after much consultation with my parents and weather.com, we felt that was the right choice. The roads were bad the whole way to their house. The kids were upset and I was bummed, but luckily we had Matt's whole family out here to hang out with. His parents had come out, so everyone was here.

After our dinner, the kids all decorated their gingerbread houses and gingerbread men. They had a blast.

Hard at work...

Uncle Nathan entertained Reagan since she was too little to do a house.

This is Tyler's finished project. Nice...

And Jordyn's... there is a cookie under there somewhere, I think...

My cute niece Grace had me take a picture of her with her cookie too.

Then they dug in!

A cute one of Reagan and Matt, and our nephew Jonathan playing too.

When these 4 girls get together, there is never a shortage of princess stuff and play! They have a great time playing together.

And Callie loved Reagan. She was so cute with her. And she had to make sure that Reagan looked at the camera for a picture.

As usual, we have much to be grateful for this year. We have have had a good year so far, and although things aren't totally where we'd like them to be, we have a wonderful little family, lots of amazing extended family who love and support us, and great friends and neighbors. And, Matt has a good job where they just love him! Heavenly Father has been good to us, and we have been blessed and taken care of. We have so much to be thankful for, and I try to remember that everyday.
Now, on to Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Definitely a good choice not to travel on scary roads. It's not worth the danger! Glad you guys still had a lot of family fun. Love the cookies! lol
