Last weekend Matt's parents were in town, and kind enough to our fam ice skating. Matt's dad has always loved ice skating (from what I've been told), and when we saw him out on the ice he was awesome at ice skating! This was our first time attempting ice skating, and it may be our last. For a long while, at least.
It started out fine. All kids were happy and excited to be there!

Then the fun started. Drama, crying, and stubborness. Reagan was SO excited to ice skate. We got her her own little pair of skates, put them on and she was so happy to hit the ice. The only problem is that she is such an independent girl, she wanted NO help from us. Well, she had a bit of a hard time balancing on the skates, that she would fall down and get even more frustrated. Then, we would try to help her and that made her ever MORE frustrated. Goodness, it was an endless circle of frustration for all of us. She would do ok with the little walker to help her, but then slip and sit and cry. Poor girl, she just can't help herself I think. Even after we took off her skates she kept running away and trying to get on the ice rink. She does make me laugh, even if her stubborness is frustrating sometimes. :)

There are no pictures of Tyler on the ice because he refused to even put on skates for the longest time. Then Grandpa finally convinced him to get on, and he did! He went around once and was done. It was so fast, that I missed the photo op because I was dealing with Reagan. But this girl, she LOVED it. Jordyn had such a blast. She went around and around, and was pretty quick by the end. She can't wait to go again, but next time she will be going with no siblings. :) Thanks to Matt's parents and his brother who took a screaming Reagan and Tyler so Matt and I could skate together a few times. We used to go ice skating a lot when we were dating, but haven't been since we got married! It was a fun trip down memory lane.

That sounds just like how our ice skating adventure went a few years ago. Funny kids.
That is hilARious!! I got a huge laugh from this. The picture of Jordyn skating is so cute!! My kids were SOOOO bummed they couldn't be there with you guys. Maybe if we go sometime soon we'll invite Jordyn to go with us. =)
OK - I think I've told you before, but I think you are the cutest/bestest mama ever! You do such cute/fun things with your kids and you enjoy time with your kids ... REALLY ENJOY it!!! I love to see that!
