Jacob's First Birthday!

How is it possible that this little dude is 1?? This year has flown by, it's crazy. Our Jacob is such a sweet boy. So happy, so content, so fun, and just cute.  We love having him in our family.  At his 1 year check up he weighed in at 24 1/2 lbs (89th%) and was 31 inches long (85th%). And his head was 19" which is 97th%. Sounds about right for my kids. :) He's perfectly healthy!

I took a picture of him first thing on his birthday. He's 1! (That monkey on his wall is his favorite. I'll often hear him talking to it. :))

Dad came in and Jacob gave him quite the good morning hug, it was adorable. He's turning into quite a daddy's boy. 

So happy all the time.

Opening presents was fun, but he didn't really get it, obviously. The other 3 loved helping him, Reagan especially! 

Ha, what a goofball. 

We did a monkey theme for his party. So I made monkey cupcakes that were super easy, and really cute!

At first he wasn't sure about the flame, or something, because he was terrified and was crying. 

Then he realized he wanted it.

We sang to him, and finally handed it over. At first he was really apprehensive, which surprised me! He seemed unsure. So cute. 

Once he started tasting it he realized how yummy it was, and ate some. Although most of the time he just spread it around the tray. 

Some things I want to remember about Jacob at 1:
-He loves to point and say "ssss that?", "whoaaaaa", and "hi"
- He will crawl around the house yelling "Daaaaaaaaaa" looking for Matt.
-He loves bananas and apple sauce, and spaghetti and pizza.
-Still on formula, because he isn't a fan of milk, and I don't have the heart to go cold turkey (yet)
- Refuses to walk while holding people's hands. He will walk around furniture and while pushing something, but refuses to let anyone help him.
-Is a pro at the stairs, up and down! I don't even watch him anymore.
- Loves to take baths.
- Loves (and gets really excited) for Thomas the Train, and Curious George.
-Completely wild at church
-Sleeps 12-13 hours at night, and still takes 2 naps.
- Loves love loves being outside, even if it's cold.
- Loves to snuggle still.

He's such a joy! I love this boy so much, and I'm so grateful for him. He fits perfectly into our little family, and we're so glad he's here. Happy Birthday Jacob!
