Science Palooza. It was a blast! (literally. Oh, I'm so funny!)
It did cost a few bucks a person, so I was a little hesitant, but it
ended up being worth it. It was completely packed though, which was a
bummer. They had so many different exhibits, and with all the people
we only saw about half of it. Luckily, there were so many that even
seeing half was a lot!
First up was the rocket building station. Each kid cut out their rocket and put it together, then they had a launch station.
This poor lady in the gray shirt was running the launch station, and she was SO overwhelmed. Some of the bottles they used to launch didn't work, she was the only one at the station, and some parents kept grabbing things and she was about ready to scream. I could tell. :) I felt really bad for her, so I hurried the kids and we moved out of her way.
Then we tested out plastic cup and string telephones. The kids thought this was pretty cool.
Tyler did say at one point that he couldn't really hear what people were saying. He said he was glad we had real phones now, haha.
Next we learned how to extract strawberry DNA. This sounded a lot cooler than it ended up being. I mean, the finished product was weird and the kids didn't really get it. BUT, the college kid we had helping us was VERY enthusiastic and so that was a lot of fun.
Then we made our own lava lamps! This one is pretty cool. I think over the summer we will do this again as a project.
It's hard to tell but they're bubbling a little.
They had an animal exhibit, which Jordyn wouldn't touch. I convinced Reagan to, then Tyler followed her lead.
We found a robot section, which was fun.
At the end, they all got a certificate and a bunch of prizes. I wish Reagan had been in this picture, but she was off petting a skunk or something. I'm pretty sure this is an annual event, and they are already looking forward to next year!

That looked like so much fun!! You'll have to let me know how they did their lava lamps. Were you here when we tried lava lamps last year. Kind of worked, kind of didn't....
