Field Day

I swear field day is THE MOST anticipated day of the spring, for all of my kids. But as a 5th grader, you get to compete in a district wide field day. This I did not realize. Jacob and I showed up, thinking it was just Jordyn's school 5th graders. But no. 9 other school's 5th graders showed up. And so did all of their parents! It was sooooo crowded. Which was fine, I just was not expecting that kind of thing. Ha! I'm a planner, alright?!

Jacob and I were there early, and watched as all the kids came in, and watched them set up.  It was really bright, so he had to steal my sunglasses.

Finally our favorite 5th grader showed up! All trendy in her truckers hat. :)

It was really fun to watch her with her friends, as they all cheered on their teammates. She was having a blast.

I missed the pictures of some of her events, and midday I had to leave to pick up Reagan from Kindergarten, and I missed an event there too. But afterwards, I snuck on to the field and got some pictures of her before the obstacle course.

I loved that they gave a ribbon to each heat that competed. So every kids came out with 5 or 6 ribbons. Genius!

Jensen and Bethany came to watch at the end, and Jacob and Jensen just went crazy, running around the top of the bleachers. Sigh, this kid keeps me so busy! :)

Jordyn and Lauren, at the end of field day. It was a long, but really fun day.

Man!! Field day is a BIG thing there. We finally got rid of our field day because it was kind of a joke. How fun that it is such a big event and that she had so much fun!!
