Most people who know me really well know I have huge feet. When I was in 6th grade I went from a size 6-11 in one year! My poor mother couldn't keep up with my rapidly growing feet, and the endless shoes we had to keep buying to keep up. After that they kept growing to size 13 (womens size), and luckily that's where they stopped.
Although, a size 13 means wearing lots of guys shoes, or having to special order them. (Or, when I was growing up, borrowing my dad's or brother's shoes :)) I can't just walk into a store and expect to try on shoes, it never happens! Anyway, enough about my feet.
So it should come as no surprise that both of my children have inherited the big foot gene. The problem is, I forget! Even after my feet had rapid growth I don't think about my children's feet growing that fast.
But, they always do!
We took Tyler in to get him new shoes, knowing that his were too small. He was bumped up to 9 1/2 (he's 2 1/2). Jordyn has a shoe fetish and of course has to try on shoes while there. I directed her to what I thought was her size, the 11's. She tries on the 11, I feel her toes. They are smashed. So I ask her, "Are your shoes hurting your toes?" She replies "YES!" So off we go to the nice clerk lady to have her feet remeasured.
Size 12 1/2.
Uh... why? We just bought her new shoes like 3 months ago! And they perfectly fit back then! *sigh* I really need to keep up on this better. And, you think I would know :)

Oh my goodness! They did get the gene. I'm so sorry. :) Why did it skip both your sisters!? I think you got it triple for all three of you girls.
Wow, that's funny. So your telling me that Tyler is basically the same size as Madison who is 5 1/2 (I think she's actually a size 10 now, but still). =) I've always had small feet. That definitely runs in my family (my dad has TINY feet - I could wear his shoes when I was in high school). =)
That is crazy! I'm guessing that means a lot of garage sale shopping? At least that's where I would be ... to keep up with that growth! Wow.
Good thing you guys are all so cute, people won't notice the large feet. :)
I kind of know how you feel, well at least Clint does. He wears a size 14 or 15 in mens and you can not find shoes ANYWHERE for him. It is so frustrating. When most guys spend $20-50 on a pair of shoes, we have to spend $100 or more on a pair that don't even look that great. Good luck with the kids though, you could just have them wear moon boots all over and then you wouldn't have this problem :).
That picture makes me laugh so hard :)
