Welcome Reagan!

Welcome to the world, Reagan Faye! She came into the world on Wednesday, June 30th, at 8:40 pm. She weighed a tiny 6 lbs 10 oz, and was 18.5 inches long.

We were scheduled for an induction that day, but apparently it was a busy, busy day at the hospital, and didn't actually get called in until 1pm. It was 2 pm by the time I was actually induced. They had discovered on the Monday before that I was lower on fluid, but thought it was not an emergency situation, just better to get her out sooner than later, so Wednesday it was. Well, when they broke my water, there was almost nothing there, just a trickle. It was a good thing I was there!

The labor went slowly at first. It took from 2 pm- 6pm just to go from 2 cm to 3 cm, but then after that it cruised. At 8:15 I was at a 7, so I called my mom to update her, Jordyn, and Tyler. While I was on the phone with her, I started feeling extreme pain and pressure, so I got off the phone and called the nurse. In 5 minutes, I was now complete and she was coming out! They hurried and called the doctor, had to set up the room, and 2 pushes later she was out. It was such a whirlwind, but all went well.

The doctor also discovered that the placenta had already started dying and calcifying, which was probably why she was so little, especially in combination with the low fluid. Although there was no explanation for why the placenta was going when I was still a few days early.

Anyway, all went extremely well, and Reagan is a very happy and healthy baby. The kids just LOVE her, and can't get enough of her. I love having a newborn again, even though it is quite an adjustment again.

And thanks to my amazing mom for coming out and taking care of my kids while we took care of Reagan at the hospital. She's been our angel this week!! Thanks mom!
