Now that summer vacation is a month in, I feel like we've taken our much needed break, and now it's time to start learning again. I've had a lot of people ask me before about websites I use to get my kids to read and know math, and I've been meaning to put them up here before, but haven't gotten around to it. So, here goes!
Starfall.com This one has been a favorite for a looong time. It's great for teaching letters and sounds, and for practicing reading and sight words. It's a big reason my kids learned their letters and reading so quick.
Education.com LOVE this one. We just recently discovered it, and it's been my go-to place for printable worksheets and stuff like that. You can customize it by grade and subject, and the worksheets are endless. Here's my kids doing some:
Tyler doing a number trace and an addition math worksheet.
Jordyn practicing writing her full name. This website has been awesome! You do have to create an account, but it's free. Love it.
KidZone This one has lots of printable pages also, and you can customize tracer pages for whatever you want your kids to learn to write- names, phone number, address, etc. Awesome!
Funschool- An awesome place for educational games. Kids love it!
PBS Kids More great games for kids, educational and fun, so I don't feel like they're just rotting their brains out.
Fun Snacks/Ideas My friend Rachael does this blog, and it's awesome. She is a preschool teacher and puts her fun craft and snack for learning ideas on a blog. Love it!!
If you have more suggestions, send them my way! We're all about learning around here. :)
