The Sunday we spent in California, we drove back down to San Diego from Anaheim, to attend church and do some fun sightseeing. When my sister Bethany was on her mission, she stayed in the same ward/area for over a year of her 18 month mission. So she has some pretty deep roots with those people. Even though the ward was in Spanish, it was fun to go attend and meet the people who knew her so well, and love her so much.
After that, we went to Old Town San Diego, which is so cute! It's such a different part of town. This is where you will find the Mormon Battalion. Soooo cool! This is where you can learn all about the trek across the county the Battalion made to help fight the war. It was really neat, and fun to learn about such a rich history of the Church. After the tour they take this cool picture for you.
The family outside.
Panning for gold at the end of the tour
Tyler got to play a fun game to collect gold. He loved it!

Reagan climbing at the top of the building. We got a cool scenery shot from it.
After the Mormon Battalion, we headed to the San Diego Temple. One of my favorites. I still remember when my family and I went to the open house, when I was about 10 years old. I remember thinking the Bridal Room was incredible, and the Celestial Room breathtaking. The whole thing was just amazing. I was so excited to take the kids there. Unfortunately, the grounds were closed, so we had to look at it through the gate.
Jordyn and Tyler goofing off with my dad, while seeing the temple. He's such a cool grandpa!
Jordyn and Bethany.
This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Loved it!

What a bummer that the temple grounds were closed. But you still got some great shots. And I would love to see that Mormon Battalion place sometime. Fun times!!
That really looks like a fun trip!
What cute pictures. That was so much fun being there at the temple even from the outside.
