Goodbye, First Grade!

This post is a few weeks behind, but better late than never, right? Jordyn had a big program on her last full day of school, and I have to post some pictures. I'll have to see if I can get the videos uploaded too.
Her class was split into 4 groups, and each group did a little play.  At the beginning though they all sang a few songs for us together.

All of the kids singing, but dressed in their costumes.

Jordyn was in a play called the Ugly Woodpecker (based off the Ugly Duckling).  She played a turtle who befriended the lost turtle, looking for his family.

She had a bunch of lines, and totally nailed it! So, we are sending her to a drama camp this summer to see how she likes it.  It seems to be something that Jordyn really enjoys.

Taking a bow.

After the plays, all of the parents went to the classroom for a slideshow and treats.  I couldn't help but get teary because it was the end of the year! I LOVED loved loved Jordyn's teacher.  She was just amazing. We have gotten so lucky in the teacher department for Jordyn so far, and it just makes me so happy! She was just the sweetest, best teacher ever. Jordyn cries still when she looks back at the slideshow and all of the fun things they did this year.  She misses her great teacher and friends. I feel very fortunate that Jordyn has had such positive experiences at school so far, and continues to love to go to school, and learn and make new friends.
I get teary eyed just writing about it.  Their education and their experiences at school is something that I stress about on a daily basis it seems like. I just want the best, and I feel like she was it. I couldn't be more thankful for all she did for Jordyn (and me!) this last year.

Jordyn and Miss W.  Goodness, I miss this teacher already! I wish we could take her with us to 2nd grade. But hopefully our good luck continues.
Cause here we come, Second Grade!
(holy cow)
