Life has been in full swing, as a mom of 2 kids in school, 1 2 year old, and a baby kicking me from the inside, who is due in less than 3 months. Needless to say, I've been busy! :) Both kids get taken to school bright and early, then it's just me and Reagan to ourselves. Which should sound nice and relaxing, right? Well sometimes it is. But this is about the only time of the day I have to catch up on stuff. Dishes, laundry, making phone calls or doing visits for my calling, grocery shopping, cleaning, and making sure Reagan is learning things while I have the one-on-one time with her. Our mornings are never dull. Reagan and I do like to keep it fun, though. We do a lot of these things:
Go to the library:
Read books:
Visit the animals across the street:
Test out underwear (that's another post), and observe the happenings in the neighborhood:
Then, kids begin trickling home. Tyler first, then Jordyn in the afternoon. This is when the real fun begins! They are both in piano, both have lots of homework and reading to do everyday. I always let them play for a little bit when they get home (I promise they DO have fun every day), then we have to hit the books. Homework, piano practice, and reading. It can take a good 1.5 hours depending on the day to get it all done. And they're only in 2nd and Kindergarten! And I have 2 more kids going to school still! This mom business can be crazy sometimes. But I love it.
This is when I feel like I'm in my mode. I have a schedule, I am efficient. They do well in school and both excel, and it makes me quite proud of them. And they love it! There are days when we're all exhausted and worn out, but I feel like we're all getting this school thing down.
So, here I am, feeling this little guy kick my belly, less than 3 months away from having him. It's gone by fast! And it's only going to go faster thanks to 3 big holidays between now and when he comes. That'll make 4 kids! 4! People keep asking me if I'm ready. I'll be honest, it's a yes, I guess! I haven't really had time to sit and think, or stress about it. I'm not freaked out really. I think other people seem to be more stressed for me than I am for myself. This little guy will just have to fit in with our flow. Life can't really slow down, and I'm fine with that. I don't plan on sitting at home doing nothing for very long, at all. We're very excited to have him come. The kids talk about names and love to give suggestions, some of which have made the list, and some of which have been instantly vetoed.
We have gotten rooms rearranged and painted, and clothes are out and being washed. Now if we could just pick a name, we'd be set! Can't wait to meet you little guy!

Oh man, your baby is gonna be so cute!!
You are such a good mama. I look up to you and hope my demeanor is as calm as yours when I have kiddos in full-time school.
Homework is crazy! I've never really gotten used to it. Can't wait to see your cute little baby boy. Pictures of him, I mean. Do people think you're crazy living there still with ALL THOSE KIDS? People thought we were crazy, but we always felt there was enough room for 4 kids.
Sounds like you have a good routine down which is VERY important. =) You've always been so good at working with your kids (worksheets, etc). It impresses me. That's probably why your kids are so smart.
I love homework, but I will admit, I'm glad Jared hasn't had much of it this year. =) It helps.
And if you did the transition to 3 kids, 4 will be a breeze. =) Especially for you.
You are so Awesome Carolyn! I just love your family! Keep up the good work! hugs, Treena
