Now that Thanksgiving and Matt's birthday are over, we are in Christmas full swing around here. I'll be honest, the thought of going all out for Christmas seems a little daunting, given the fact that the baby could come at any time around Christmas and I am huge and uncomfortable, but it is Christmas after all, and so celebrate we will!
Last saturday, we took the kids to the Home Depot kids workshop, which was awesome! They loved it and had a blast, so we will definitely be making the tradition to go every month. Anyway, they made these really cute Christmas picture frames, and even Reagan thought it was the coolest thing.
You have to build your little project first.
Thankfully we had dad on hand to help out with that part.
Then we moved over to the painting table, where the kids took it upon themselves to create a masterpiece.
The thing is, while we were at Home Depot, we wandered through their tree selection, and on a whim decided to pick up a real tree this year. We have a really nice fake tree that we have used for a few year, and it's pretty and really nice. But Matt and I couldn't resist the lure of a real, good smelling tree. So we decided to switch it up a little this year.
We brought it home and got to decorating.
Yep, still in their HD aprons. :)
Reagan helped Matt put up the lights outside.
And we have a pretty finished product! The house smells great now. :)
We hit the lights at the town's local light festival, which is always a hit with the kids.
Self portrait in the car, yikes! :)
Jordyn and Tyler have been playing a lot of Christmas music, which is so fun to hear.
We rode the train up with my family after Thanksgiving, and went up to Temple Square to see the lights.
(Just a cool nativity they have up there)
I'll admit, my mind has been more on this baby coming than Christmas, but it has been so fun to get started on our traditions and talk about the reason for the season. We are truly blessed, and it has been great to get ready for Christmas this year.
