Jacob - At the hospital

Here we are 2 weeks later, and boy has life changed! 4 kids is, well, and adjustment. A good one, but an adjustment. Here are my 4 little monsters. :)

But I should rewind a little. We went to the hospital early Wednesday morning, December 26th, to be induced. I was hoping (and expecting) a pretty quick and easy delivery.  Well, that didn't happen. While the experience wasn't completely horrible, it took over 10 hours of labor, passing out twice, a failed epidural, and lots of uncontrollable shaking to finally get this guy out. Maybe I'll post the detailed story another day. But it was not the pleasant experience I was hoping for!

Finally at 5:22 pm, we welcomed little Jacob Matthew into the world. He weighed in at a surprising 8 pounds 7 ounces, and was 19 1/2 inches long. He was my biggest baby by an ounce! And almost a full 2 pounds bigger than Reagan.

I don't remember this picture, and I'm surprised I was holding him considering how badly I was shaking thanks to the epidural.

Proud Papa.

Getting his first bath.

Then, my mom brought the kids over to meet their new brother. They all loved him right away!

Tyler was excited to have a brother.

Reagan loves the baby!

My mom holding Jacob.

Later that night I took some pictures with my phone, while Jacob and I had some one on one time.

I love the milk coma face.

He wasn't sure about the pacifier, still isn't really, but he'll give it a whirl for a little bit.

And here he is in his car seat all bundled and ready to go home! He looks very unimpressed. :)

I have no complaints about my stay at the hospital. All of my nurses were absolutely fantastic, and all took great care of me and Jacob.  I am thankful for a good experience, and that we left there happy and healthy!
