Idaho

Last weekend, we took a much needed mini-vacation up to Idaho to see Bethany, Miles, and Jensen. It was a quick 48 hour trip, but so fun!! We had to test out the new mini-van for it's traveling capabilities, and it did not disappoint. :)

We tried hitting this cool splash pad outside, but it was cold and windy (it is Idaho, after all), so we were only there for a little bit until forced home due to blue toes and lips!

Bethany got some good use out of the kids by having them help her tie a blanket. They loved it!

The "twins", as strangers like to comment. :) But their skin tone is different enough! These 2 were so cute.

Playing outside in the pool was a hit!

And, we were able to enjoy some of Miles' bread baking. YUM!!

Saturday night, we drove an hour out to Driggs, Idaho, to this cool fireworks party. They had live entertainment, booths for food and cool stuff, and this big grass area to camp out and play. It was so fun!

But, like I said, it IS still Idaho, so jacket were a must. :)

It was by far one of the best fireworks shows I've ever seen, and the first show any of the kids have ever seen! Matt and I debated about taking them, or not, since it was going to be a late night. And we were tired, and there were lots of reasons to just stay home. But, we ended up going and I'm so glad we did. We didn't get home till close to 12:30 AM, and we were all sooo exhausted, but the looks on the kid's faces when they watched the fireworks right over their heads was priceless! They played music and had recorded stories and tributes in between the fireworks, and it was just a really neat show.

Tyler was shaking like a leaf the whole time, but couldn't get enough of it. He wouldn't stop talking the whole time out of nervous excitement! It was so funny. Reagan and Jacob both had moments where they cried from being a little scared, but overall, they all sat still while we snuggled up in the blankets to keep warm, and it was such a sweet time with my little family. Such sweet memories that I'll cherish forever.

The next day, before we left, Bethany made a cake for Reagan's birthday which was the day after this. We made a pink cake (of course!), and Bethany made an "R" on the cake.

I had forgotten how pretty and green Idaho is in the summer. Winter is bleh, but summer is so pretty. The kids talk about moving up there all the time, and how much they loved seeing Bethany, Miles and Jensen. Such a fun trip!!

Sounds like you did have a great trip. Too bad it was so short. That fireworks show sounded SO cool!! Glad the van didn't disappoint. =)
