On Labor Day, we (stupidly) decided to head up to Rocky Mountain national park and do some hiking and sight seeing. It was SO crowded! Apparently everyone else had the same idea as we did. Getting through Estes Park was a nightmare, and the park was so crowded. They had signs all over the park saying all of the parking lots were full, and to come back later. We decided to push our luck, and amazing we did end up getting a parking spot. We got really lucky! There were lots of others that were not so lucky.
We also didn't plan very well for the weather. It was nice and warm at home before we left, but the temperature dropped down to about 54 once we were up in the mountains. And, we all had shorts and t-shirts on. Oops. Matt and I both completely spaced it! There was some complaining about being cold (I was even cold!), but we made it and everyone survived. :)
We hiked up to Nymph Lake first, which was about a mile hike. It was so pretty! It would have been nicer if there weren't 100 other people there. :) But, Jacob had fun schmoozing the ladies. He really liked the college age girls, everyone time one walked by, he would smile and say "Hiiii", it was hilarious! Everyone thought he was so cute.
Just look at this beautiful scenery.
Just look at this beautiful scenery.
My handsome 7 year old!
It is practically impossible to get a picture of all 4 of them smiling, AND looking at the camera, at the same time. But we try anyway.
More pretty mountains.
My hunk of a husband. :)
And there's this cutie. He is such a goofball lately, and he knew when we were trying to take his picture. Love this silly guy!
We saw a moose! Everyone was shocked, because we were in the wrong place to see one, but we did. And it was cool. Jacob kept calling it a cow, and saying "it's nice!", then kept trying to run to it and pet it. He SCREAMED for a long long time after we drove away from it. He really wanted to be its friend.
And we saw a cool elk!
This was Tyler holding up Jacob to look at the animals. He loves his brother fiercely.
Ok, the last pictures are out of order but this post is making me crazy trying to fix it! So I'm just leaving them. :) Love my family, love the beautiful earth we have to enjoy, and we can't wait to keep exploring!

How fun! You got some gorgeous pictures. How funny that Jacob was being so friendly with the college girls. You're in trouble. ;)
We were one of the many others up there on Labor Day too! It was busy!
