Grandparent's Birthdays

It's been so fun to be closer to family in while we're in Colorado. One of the benefits has been celebrating Gma and Gpa's birthday in the last few months! The kids have had fun celebrating with them, since it's not something we've done before.

First was Grandpa D's birthday, and we went and had a delicious Texas roadhouse dinner that grandma replicated, plus some yummy angel food cake. The kids were very anxious to help him open his present afterwards.

The girls helped put (lots and lots) of candles on his cake. :)

And Jacob was more than happy to help blow out the candles, and he loves sitting on grandpa's lap.

Next up was Grandma's birthday! We decided to make a cake FOR her, so you know, she didn't have to make her own cake. :). So, Matt decided to go all out. A completely made from scratch, 3 layer cake. It was supposed to be 4 layers, but that was too big.

Look at this cake! It's impressive. And I love the Jacob face in the background. :)

Jacob also helped Grandma blow out her candles.

And I just loved this picture of Jacob, he was making such a mess! And out of now where, he looked up at the light in shock and aw.  Haha, this kid is hilarious.

We loved joining in on the celebrations. It's always great to be with the family! :)
