Tyler's Baptism

This past weekend Tyler was baptized. It was such a fun, crazy day.
Doesn't he look handsome?! We finally bought him his first suit and man, he rocks it! He wore it to church the next day because he said he loved that everyone told him how good he looked, haha. He's not vain at all.... ;)

So just a few quick thoughts about this day. Tyler had been really nervous for the few weeks leading up to the baptism date. He kept asking if we could postpone, or if it really had to happen so fast. I don't know if it is because it's such a big deal (and he fully grasps that), or what, but he was feeling really anxious about it. I finally told him to really pray and think about it, and to let me know what he had decided. We weren't going to force him to do it if he wasn't totally comfortable with it. It is his choice, after all.

Well, he never came out and said he had decided to do it, but one day in a round about way referred to his baptism and that it would be February 28, and that he had decided it really was the right decision.  I was really happy that he really and truly decided for himself to go ahead and be baptized.

I wish I had taken more pictures of the set up and stuff. I had a cute picture of Tyler, and an "8 is great" sign.  Our primary presidency is SUPER crafty and talented, and they put together a baptism book for Tyler, all the guests signed it. They gave him a cute baptism block with the date and his name, and the articles of faith on it. He was SO excited to get a that fun stuff.

Afterwards, we got family pictures. The kids were being crazy on the stairs, but I ended up getting a cute one of them.

The family with Grandma and Grandpa D.

All the family that came. It is a much smaller crowd than our Utah family. It was weird...

Just a silly picture of Reagan and Tyler. These two are twins, I swear.

Out of order, but Matt and Tyler in their baptism clothes.

And then there's this kid. Holy moly. He was out of control! Ha. It was cute, because its our family and we're used to it, and Tyler loves his brother. But man, Jacob was loud and rowdy, and he kept going up to the front and repeating what the speakers were saying to Tyler.  At one point during Karen's talk, he crawled under the table and pulled the table cloth down, and a bunch of people had to jump up and catch everything. Oh, good times.  Then when Tyler was being confirmed, Jacob kept yelling "What's Tyler doing? Tyler, what you doing??" Haha, it was crazy. But it definitely gave it it's own feel for our family, and so that made it great.

We are proud of Tyler and his decision! He is such a cool kid. Love you Tyler!

Oh we miss you guys!! We are so sad we couldn't be there. Maybe you should have postponed it like Tyler said, just a couple of weeks. =( So glad he made the decision for himself. What a mature kid.
