Walks with Jacob

It's not much of a secret that Jacob is packed with personality. He has his own way of doing things, and he likes it that way. He definitely has a mind of his own. :)  

We have this bike that Jordyn got when she turned One, so it's been through almost 9 years and 4 kids, and somehow it is still going strong, faded as it may be. Jacob loves this bike. LOVES it. He asks to ride it all the time. He is fast, and if we don't watch him closely and keep the doors locked, he'll escape out the front and just take off on his bike. It is adorable, I just wish he'd wait until we were with him! :)

So as much as he loves to go on bike rides with us on walks, he also loves to do it his own way. Which lately means a lot of stopping to smell the roses. (Basically just a lot of stopping). I'll admit, it can be frustrating sometimes when he just stops and camps himself down for a good 5 minutes sometimes, but it has made for some of my favorite pictures and memories of walking with him.

These are from a few different walks, even though he's wearing the same shirt in a lot of the pictures, ha. It is his fave shirt, after all. 

This one below he said his bike was "broken down" and that he needed to fix it. So he stopped, took a look, and determined that he had indeed fixed it and was ready to go again.

Contemplating the deep things in life...?

He really does stop a lot also to look at trees and plants, the sky and planes, whatever he wants. His face is so funny in this picture. Love it!

And this one, he said he was so tired that he needed a quick nap. He laid down by his bike, and I heard "ahhh shooo ahhhh shoo" like he was snoring. :) 

I love this boy. I love that he makes me stop and enjoy life more often than I normally would.
