Jordyn's Birthday

Jordyn is TEN! Whaaaaaa? I can't believe my oldest is ten years old. She has been counting down to her birthday for months and months, so I knew we had to live up to the hype. Haha, I love this girl and her excitement.  So, for her birthday, we got her ears pierced! People kept telling her it wasn't that bad, but I knew she would not be a fan. (She has a low pain tolerance). She brought a stuffed owl to hold with her, and that helped. After it was over, she would not stop talking about how much it hurt! She didn't cry, but she complained about it for a long time. :)  But, it's over and done, and she is loving having earrings.

Reagan actually got her ears pierced that day too! It was fun to have a girls day. Reagan cried for a few seconds then wait it didn't hurt that bad!

The girls with their earrings. Cute!

(Funny side note: One of Reagan's earrings fell out about a week after being pierced. We didn't even notice until a few hours later I think, because by the time we did her ear had already closed. She chose not to have it repierced, so we took out the other earring and that was that. We won't be repeating that for a long time.)

Right before her birthday, her cousins were in town, so we celebrated the June birthdays- Jordyn, Grace, and Reagan.
Ben photobombed my pictures of the girls opening their presents from Grandma.

Marie and I made the girls an owl cake. They all loved it!

Ha, I know my decorating skills leave a lot to be desired. I was just happy you could actually guess it was an owl!

Then a few days later on her actual birthday. Matt had to be out of town for her birthday for High Adventure. Jordyn was so bummed about that, and Matt was too.

She requested bowling for a birthday activity. So I took the kids and we went bowling. It was a ton of fun! It was nice to get us out of the house and celebrate Jordyn. She has always loved bowling.

Of course, we had to get fries for a snack.

I had to document this, Jacob was being a stinker (in a funny way), and at one point just laid there and said he was tired. Uhhh..... not a good place to lay down. Silly kid.

And I had to take a picture of the score board. Reagan beat everyone! It was NOT a good game for anyone really, except Jacob and Reagan. I was laughing at all of our scores.

My pretty girl on her 10th birthday. I feel like she's grown up so much lately.  She just looks older too!

For her birthday that night, I made another owl cake. Can you sense a theme here? :) I used a different idea, and it turned out cute too.

She loved it, and that makes me happy.

Blowing out the candles! We were grateful Kenny and Corbyn could come celebrate with us too.

Jordyn at 10 years old:

You love owls. LOVE owls. Every stuffed animal, every fabric you buy, and every item I find secretly put in my Amazon cart is owl related.
You love having your own room and you sleep with at least 15 pillows on your bed every night.
You are doing amazing at the piano, and love playing primary songs the best.
You are a fantastic helper with your younger siblings. Especially Jacob. They all love you and look up to you, and I am so grateful for this.
You are learning to cook, and are a natural! It's always a fun thing for me to watch you make breakfast for everyone. (And also very helpful!)
You love riding your bike around the neighborhood, by yourself. We are giving you a lot more independence lately, and you seem to be LOVING it.
You are hooked to Minecraft still. You and Tyler definitely bond over this.
Your favorite color is purple, and your favorite food is steak.
You hate ketchup and mustard, but love mayo.
Your favorite shows are America Ninja Warrior and American's Got Talent.
You are so excited to be in 5th grade! You make friends easily, and I hear of lots of boys that have cute little crushes.  You still wish we'd move back to Utah, and you are such a loyal friend.
Your dad and I LOVE you!! We are in awe of you and your talents, and are so thankful you are ours.
Love you forever, Jordyn

Holy cow!! She's 10! And she finally got her ears pierced. That's crazy!!! Madison will be so excited to hear that! I should have sent her earrings for her birthday. Shoot! I loved the Owls cakes. What a cute idea. I can't show those to Madison, she'll be jealous. Haha! They turned out so cute. (And that story about Reagan is so funny!)

I LOVED the picture of Jacob laying on the floor at the bowling alley. So funny!

We miss you guys!
