I'm throwing this one way back to May. The last day of school for the kids was mid May (I honestly can't even remember the day anymore), and we decided to celebrate! It was a half day and Jordyn and Tyler had half days if they wanted. Tyler, being the school lover he is, stayed with only a few kids for the whole day. Most of the other kids left after the parent lunch. He said he just wasn't ready to come home yet.
After the first picture, I told them to show me how they felt about the last day of school. This is what I got. Reagan was happy and excited, but would have stayed in school if she could have. Tyler was meh. He didn't really want school to end. And Jordyn, well, it's pretty obvious she was a little too excited about school being over. :)
I celebrated by surprising the kids with a Summer themed cake. It was a hit! It was a lot of fun decorating it. I'll definitely be doing more fun themed cakes in the future.
The kids and the cake.
That night, we went to the library's "school's out" celebration. The kids REALLY wanted to go, because they had Paul Kasmir come and speak. If you don't know who he is, then you must not watch American Ninja Warrior. At least not as religiously as we do. He's been a competitor on the show for a few years, and he originally hails from Colorado. He was fun to listen to. But man it was so crowded. Apparently he is pretty popular.
After he spoke, there was a magic show. It was cool, but not that exciting. I was kind of bored. But I wasn't the target audience, so it doesn't matter. :)
Tyler and Reagan did like it. We ran into Tyler's friend Ami, that's always a plus.
I can't believe school's been out for a while now. It was a fun year!

Love the cake. Themed cakes are so much fun! You got some great pictures of the kids. I love the descriptions of how they felt about the last day of school. And I think it's GREAT that Tyler wanted to stay the whole day. I think it's interesting though that they have the option.
