Yellowstone - Day 2

Day 2- July 28th. We were all so tired this day. We spent the night before freezing our buns off, with wind and rain and freezing temps. And apparently our tent is not a "winter" tent. It's definitely more of a warm camping tent. Too many vents... Poor Matt spent his night hopping from kid to kid to make sure that everyone stayed warm. Thanks to him, they all did. He was incredible. We're so thankful that he always takes such good care of us. He hardly slept at all that night, going from sleeping bag to sleeping bag, making sure people were warm and stayed sleeping. Love that guy.

That morning, after learning that grandpa had also had a rough night, and that Jacob desperately needed a jacket, we decided to drive into town for some shopping. We drove to West Yellowstone, Montana. It was our first time going to Montana! The kids were excited about that.  We stopped at a cute little ma and pa store, and grandma was so kind and bought all the kids a Yellowstone sweatshirt. Those were lifesavers!

My dad and Miles ended up driving back to Rexburg (which is actually pretty close to Yellowstone) so they could get some important shopping in. So, once we got back from Montana, we decided to go ahead and start the sight seeing even without Miles and Grandpa. It was still pretty cold, but luckily we had our sweatshirts to keep us warm! So we ventured out to the Fountain Paint Pots. A quick, easy boardwalk place that was just gorgeous.

We happened to catch this small geyser going off. I can't remember the name of it, since I took these pictures before I had the thought to take pictures of all the signs so I could remember what I was looking at later (now) haha. It was fun to watch.

Gorgeous sky.

Bethany and Jensen, who was giving me the stink eye. :)

There's Jordyn, Bethany, Jensen, Tyler, Grandma, and Reagan.

This was so pretty in person. The blue is just amazing. And it was so clear! You could see the bubbles come up from underground. So cool.

The run off from the springs left this amazing orange and brown color.

And lots of bacteria.

Jacob and Matt selfie.

We headed back to camp to warm up. Grandpa had bought a new generator and that left a big box for the kids to play in.

Roasting smores.

This is the only picture I got of the kids in their new sweatshirts, and you can see Grandma got one too. You can't miss it- it's bright green!

It was our turn for dinner that night, and Reagan was a pro chef who helped Matt make the chicken.

Then we wandered down by the river. You can never have too many pictures of 2 year old boys in a field. Love.

We brought up Matt's hammock, which ended up being a toy. It was awesome though! It kept the kids entertained while we were at camp. It was too cold to sleep in it, but I'm so glad we brought it anyway.

Sister picture.

Oops, out of order, back to the paint pots. :)

Typical.
