Valentine's Extravaganza!

Confession time. So, I have never really been in to Valentine's Day. Don't get me wrong, I'm always up for getting flowers, but that was more in the day when money seemed to grow on trees when Matt and I were dating. Now that we live in real life, I know that that is not the case. Why pay 5x more for flowers on Feb. 14th? Especially when I could do so much more with that money? Anyway, off my soap box.

But, I still don't really remember doing much for V-day growing up, or ever really. However, now that my kids are older and celebrate it quite extravagantly at school (does anyone else feel like it's a second Halloween? Holy candy!), we have gotten into the celebration a little more.

For breakfast, we made pink, heart shaped pancakes. I free handed these babies. Oh yeah!

Silly picture, and a thumbs up from Tyler!

Reagan didn't eat any; she's just darn cute.

For dinner, we got the kids a heart shaped pizza, and then they ate this delicious cheesecake Matt made for dessert.

After the kids went to bed, Matt whipped up a fancy feast, and we ate it at home, in the peace and quiet, just the two of us! It was so nice. And it was a yummy meal. Shrimp pasta, cheddar biscuits, asparagus, caesar salad, and a virgin pina colada. Oh, so good. Then, cheesecake for us.

As I mentioned, the kids came home with TONS of candy. I couldn't believe it. Jordyn left a sucker on the floor, and well, Reagan found it. Pulled off the wrapper and went to town. And boy was she one happy girl. I had to snap a picture before I took it away. She was not so happy at me after that.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Minus the shrimp that dinner looks awesome!! And I was very impressed with the pancakes. Very fun!

And I LOVE the picture of Reagan with the sucker in her mouth. That is SO cute!! I can totally picture her getting really made at you when you took it away, too. =)
