Avid Adventure

Today was one of the coolest school days ever! Jordyn's school brought in a company called Avid Adventure to set up at the school, and give each grade an adventure day. Coloradans are so crazy about the outdoors, as evidenced by this school day alone!

She spent the whole day with the 4th grade doing the different activities, then the families of 4th graders were invited for an hour after school to see what it was all about. And the siblings could participate! So we made our way over.

They tried out kayaking first. Seriously, kayaking! How cool! They had a giant mini pool thing set up and let the kids take a run. Jordyn and Reagan went together, and Tyler went solo. The girls sat in a kayak for almost 30 minutes, they were having such a blast. It was so fun to see them try it out. Both older kids were pretty good! It came pretty naturally to them.

It's amazing that the weather has been so beautiful for so long, it was such a beautiful day for being outside.

Next they tried rock climbing. Even Reagan suited up for climbing. And now all 3 are begging to go again! So we'll be looking up climbing wall places to take them to. Lucky for them, this IS Colorado, so it won't be hard to find. :)

First Reagan tried out the easiest course. She did really well! I was surprised. She just needed a little instruction and guidance and then did really well.

She could have kept going even higher, but I think she was scared of the height as she climbed up, so she would just say "I'm done!" and let go. She also loved the down part.

Jordyn did great too! For some reason I don't have as many pictures of her climbing, but she did say the kayaking was her favorite.

Then there's Tyler. He is so athletic! He tried out every single course, and did awesome! He loved loved it. The city actually offers a rock climbing class and I think I might sign him up.

At the top they had these buzzer things you press when you get to the top, and you could always see Tyler up there hitting away. It was cute.

I think Tyler liked the down part also. Descent? Is there an actual rock climbing lingo word for that? Ha! My siblings would be so ashamed of me.

Too cool.

Jacob and I as we hung out and took pictures of the kids. Loving the sunshine! We are so grateful for fun new things the kids can learn. I'm so glad they have such great schools.

And I'm loving all these posts! Keep them coming - we need stay updated with your cute little family.

What a cool school experience! Wish our schools here did that (although I'm not sure if my kids would do any of that... sure looks cool though!).

How cool! I'd love to let my kids try stuff like that. Maybe we just need to move book club to Colorado?

Okay, that is just AWESOME!! And I love how much your kids enjoyed it and the talents that you found out through it. And why does it look like your kids are the only ones there. Are Utah schools that crowded?!?! Holy cow!
