Train Obsession

My littlest man has a slight obsession with trains right now. He has always loved trains, since he was able to express an opinion. I have to remember this, because it defines him so much right now, and I love it's cuteness.

He is a huge fan of any and all trains, but he has a great love for Thomas the Train, and Thomas' comrades. He can name all the trains on the show, and still gets the excited-open-mouth-gasp face whenever a train show comes on. I almost always have to make sure I take trains with us wherever we go, because they keep him entertained, and he always is asking for them.

This is at Reagan's swim lessons. He was showing me Thomas.

One of the things I love most is that he always lays down to play with his trains. Maybe so he can see them at eye level? Maybe it's just easier to grab? I don't know, but I love it.
Also, notice the left leg? This is a recurring thing. Ah, so cute!

This is at Gma and gpa D's house. Same leg thing...

The library...

Even eating lunch! This train was lucky enough to carry some cargo for Jacob.

Another day at the library.

The basement...

Someone else's house...

And one of his favorites! This is at Matt's parents house, and they have this HUGE train table. He loves to play with it every single time we are there visiting. It is what dreams are made of for this little guy.

Another day...

Same pose, same place, but different time.

I don't know how much longer this phase will keep up, but I have to remember how excited he gets when he sees trains. How he yells (literally, yells) "CHOO CHOO!" when he's playing with his trains. If he gets one dirty, he'll tell it sorry, hahaha. If he loses one, he says "oh no! where go?". He'll walk around saying "Thomas, are youuuuuuuu?", when he wants to play with them.  One day, Matt and I sat at a train crossing in the car with Jacob for almost 20 minutes while we waiting for the train to pass, and he was so excited the whole time. I wish he didn't have to lose this excitement and innocence, and pure fascination. What a beautiful thing the mind of a little child is. It's so sweet to watch him play and use his imagination. I love this little man so, so much.

SOOOOO cute! It takes me back to when my boys were in that same phase. I think all my kids went through a train phase. It lasted longer for some then others. But it's just so cute to find something they love and are so fascinated by. Love the leg thing and love that he loves trains so much. so so so cute.
