Halloween

Halloween. Phew. It's over and I'm happy about that. :) But, we did have a fun Halloween, it just seems like it was so crazy this year! Maybe it was 3 kids having 3 halloween parades on the same day at 3 different schools... But it was still fun.

First off, we had the ward trunk or treat. That was a lot of fun! Here's Jacob in his dinosaur costume before we left.

They had all the cars in a circle, kindof, and the kids just went around and around. They scheduled this part to be an hour, but there weren't enough cars for that long. So, the kids just kept going around and around until everyone ran out of candy. That still only took half an hour! And they got SO much candy. It was a tad ridiculous. :) Reagan followed Tyler and his friends around.

This was the best picture I could get. This is the back of Tyler and Ami, his bff. She's a pink power ranger.

This was the only sighting I had of Jordyn the whole time, I think. She was off with her friends the whole time. And they are fast!

After truck or treating, they did a cute parade of all the kids and announced what their costumes were. It was a cute idea, my kids are just so shy! Ha! And I was far away so I had to zoom in, and my pictures are meh.

This is hilarious, Tyler's little wave.

Jordyn and her friend, running across the stage.

There was a potluck and a pie contest, and we had a fun time sitting with grandmas and grandpas!

Next up we have trick or treating. Reagan, as you saw, was Minnie Mouse. I had put a little black on her nose for the mouse part. Well, I put it on, and left to get another kid ready. 10 minutes later she comes down like this!!

What the?!?! She said I didn't do a big enough Minnie nose. Yikes! She definitely got it big enough. It took a lot to clean it off before we could leave. She has always loved playing with make up, and it shows. :) She was so proud of herself, it was hard to be mad. She asked that I take her picture like she wanted, so I did. It'll make for some good memories (blackmail) later on. She's always making life an adventure!

Tyler was a Minecraft creeper. He wasn't quite as keen on posing for me as his sisters were.

And, the 3 of them. I couldn't get Jacob in the picture. I'll show you why in a minute...

He was wayyyy too busy riding his bike. Next to trains, riding his bike is his favorite thing. He had put his costume on happily, but then didn't want anything to do with pictures or standing still.

See this face? This is us trying to get him off the bike! :)

Oh man, he was so mad. We tried to take him trick or treating but he just cried. He wanted his bike SO bad. Oddly enough, we didn't really end up going trick or treating, at all really! My kids are SO shy, they'd rather not knock on strangers doors and ask for candy. I guess when I type it out like that it sounds like a good thing. This happened last year too, where they just weren't into it.  They did have a ton of candy from the trunk or treat the week before, so it wasn't a big deal. So, instead. we went to Kenny and Corbyn's house and trick or treated there, then we headed over to G and G D's house. Grandma made a jack-o-lantern pizza, witch finger bread sticks, and blood jello! Then we watched a Halloween movie and called it a night.  I think Matt and I enjoyed it much more, and so did the kids. Maybe trick or treating just isn't for us? Who knows.

Ok, so now I have to back up to Halloween morning. Reagan and Tyler both had their Halloween shows/parades at 9 am. So I went to Reagan's and Matt went to Tyler's. Reagan's was really cute! They did a parade, which was just walking around the house a few times while they waved at us. Then they sang us some Halloween songs. This is her with her class.

Luckily, Reagan's was really short, so after hers I ran over to Tyler's school, and I managed to catch him as the parade was coming outside.

I forced him to stop so I could take a picture, haha.

Then that afternoon was Jordyn's school parade. Now, hers was a nightmare! Her school has apparently never done a parade before. Normally they do a fall ball? Where you come and dress up. So this was the first year for the parade. And it showed. It was a mess, completely unorganized and totally chaotic. We had both grandma's with us, and none of us could figure out what was going on, or where they were going! Hopefully they'll figure it out. I did manage to catch a few pictures of Jordyn.

There goes her class! Now, and reasonable person would think they would walk around and come in a circle, right? No. They just stopped at the end of the line and sat back down, hardly making it around a section of the school. It was like they were playing leap frog. It was so weird. So we kept trying to follow her and find her, but we never did. Oh well.

And just a last one of Jacob silently begging for candy.

Happy Halloween!

My kids were a bit wary of knocking on people's door as well - but I was like "Go up there and knock or we're going home!" so eventually they did. I probably should have chilled out about it though - your Halloween sounds more laid back, I love it!!

That's so funny about the trick or treating. My kids were so the opposite! I totally forgot about your blog, and it's so good to see how much your kids seem to be thriving! We miss you guys.
