Oh, my baby. He's 3! I'll admit, I'm sad I'll never have a 2 year old again, but I love this boy, and I love the 3 year old age. Jacob is such a sweet boy. SO full of personality, energy, silliness, and fiestyness, he is always keeping us on our toes. Just now as I'm writing this, he handed grandma his phone he was watching and said "hold this while I watch". Here are some pictures of Jacob to show his fun personality.
These first two are from our daily morning snuggles when it's just the two of us at home. It's one of my favorite times of the day!

And oldie but a goodie.
It looks like he was using the force to stop me on our walk.
I love this picture. He found this stuffed dog at grandma D's house, and it used to be Uncle Nathan's. Luckily, Nathan said Jacob could keep it, and so he quickly renamed it Jacob Junior, and it goes everywhere with his. He sleeps with it tucked nicely next to him almost every night. Thanks Nathan for the awesome gift!
Pulling his friend the snowman on a sled.
We have no shame in his game! He loves to play babies and use Reagan's baby doll toys, especially when she's gone at school. He uses different voices for his different babies and toys and it's quite entertaining.
I can't get over the thumb sucking! We are getting to the point where I think... ok maybe we should start thinking about getting him off the thumb sucking, but it's just so cute and it's just the cutest thing. Bad teeth, whatever! I love it.
I caught him sneaking food, he thought he could hide behind the open cabinet doors.
So finally, his birthday. I decorate the Christmas tree with birthday balloons, because let's be honest, it is impossible to fully separate his birthday from Christmas. So I'm trying to find a balance between making his birthday his own thing, but with the reality that the day before was Christmas and it's just the way it is. I really hope he'll grow up without any angst towards this, or me! :)
He opened some present that morning, and of course, he got trains! Trains, trains and more trains. He plays with them on a daily basis, and it's all he asked for. Trains and tracks. Please don't ever grow out of it.
That night, we had all the family over to celebrate, even cousins from Texas! He had been asking for weeks when everyone would sing to him. He was soooo excited to have everyone sing Happy Birthday to him. So I took this picture of him just watching everyone singing. He was so enchanted!
We made him a really simple train cake, and he loved it. We did it green for Henry the Train. It was fun to have so many cousins there that day.
And a throw back. This sweet baby took our family by storm. I cannot say exactly how much I love this boy. How much our whole family loves him. I cannot fully describe how he's changed us for the better, how his dynamic personality has made us happier. He brings joy to everyone around him. He is meant for great things. I am so happy I get to be his momma. I love this kid (and all my kids!) so, so much. What a blessed momma I am to have these kids in my life.
